Barron is the county seat of Barron County, a city of about 3,700 an hour north of Eau Claire: up Highway 53, then five miles west on Highway 8. County government is here, the Jennie-O plant is here, and the industrial park sits next to the municipal airport with rail service and four- to eight-acre lots ready to build.
The biggest employer in the county is in this town. Jennie-O's Barron plant, part of Hormel, has 1,800 people, and in 2024 it stopped harvesting turkeys and became a further-processing plant, with modernization money going into the building. The county's Government Center on East Monroe Avenue, the Justice Center on Highway 25 north of town and the Highway Department on North 7th Street are all here, and Mayo Clinic Health System's Northland hospital is in town.

By the time the asphalt around the grate is breaking up, the structure underneath has usually been moving for years. Rebuilt properly means the structure, a new collar and the asphalt keyed back in.
The Government Center, the Justice Center and the hospital are public lots, which means ADA stalls and access aisles at the federal dimensions, fire lanes marked, and a layout the public can read the first time through. A restripe goes on after the sealer has cured.
Barron High School runs track and field and tennis. The town's six tennis courts are the complex at Kiwanis Park on the north side of the Yellow River, built in 2016 with the school district paying most of the cost. Court and track work is a summer-window job.
Dock aprons and pads at the plant and the industrial park, curb and gutter around the county buildings. Commercial pours go down at 4,500 PSI with tied rebar, and a dumpster pad is sized for the truck that empties it rather than for the container.
The Barron Industrial Park has level four- to eight-acre lots with the utilities in, rail service and the airport next door. A new lot goes down on a graded, compacted, drained base first, because the base is what decides how long the surface lasts.
