How much does sealcoating cost?
Sealcoating is priced by the square foot of surface, and Black Widow Sealcoating publishes a rate of $0.15 to $0.25 per square foot.

What you are paying for
The square footage is the number that decides most of it. Length times width, with the apron, the turnaround and any parking pad added in. A long rural drive is worth measuring rather than guessing at, because people are usually well out in both directions.
The condition moves it inside the range. A rough, oxidized surface takes noticeably more material than a smooth one, and the areas that wear hardest, the apron at the road and the spot a vehicle turns in, often take a second pass when the rest does not.
What is quoted separately
Crack filling is priced by the linear foot of crack rather than by the size of the surface, so a big drive with four cracks costs less to fill than a small one that has opened up all over. On a driveway it is usually included up to a point when it is done with a sealcoat rather than billed on its own.
Repairs are their own line. Cutting out a failed area full depth and rebuilding the base under it is a different job from coating a surface, and rolling the two into one number hides which one you are buying.
How to get a real number
Measure the drive, walk the cracks, and photograph anything that looks worse than a crack: an area that gives underfoot, a hole, or cracking broken into squares. Those three photographs are what turn a range into a number.
On a commercial lot, add the hours and the areas you cannot lose. Sealed asphalt needs 24 to 48 hours before traffic goes back on it, and where that time comes from is part of what the estimate works out.
